Catherine completed her training as a Radiation Therapist at Sydney University, Australia in 1992. Catherine practised clinically, in Sydney and Perth, Western Australia in various roles including treatment senior, clinical educator and research roles.
Catherine completed her Post Graduate Masters in Health Sciences (Medical Radiation Sciences) with Sydney University in 2002. In 2003, Catherine was awarded a certificate of specialization in Advanced Radiation Therapy from Sydney University. In 2005, Catherine completed a Diploma of Business (Healthcare Management), and her certificate IV in Assessment and workplace training. Catherine is a member of the Australian Institute of Radiography (AIR), and an Associate Fellow of the Australian College of Health Service Executives. In 2004, Catherine gained her first academic appointment as a Lecturer at Monash University and is responsible for convening units of study on radiation therapy treatment and planning, including MMR4002, MMR4006 and MMR5001.
In 2010, Catherine commenced her role as Convenor of Studies in Advanced Radiation Therapy Studies with Monash University. Catherine convenes professional practice short courses in Imaging, Breast localization and simulation, treatment review and palliative care. Catherine’s special interests include rural health, Rural and regional Radiation Therapy services and the professional practice needs of Radiation Therapists.
