Wendy graduated from Medicine at Monash University in 1980. Her subsequent internship and JRMO was at Maroondah Hospital, Ringwood. She then worked for several years in general practice & as an assistant surgeon before completing her Dip Ed from the University of Melbourne in1992. Wendy has taught biological sciences in Melbourne tertiary educational institutes, including RMIT, LaTrobe University, Swinburne and Deakin University. In 2001 Wendy, along with two collegues won an RMIT University Teaching Award. She has lectured at Monash University since 2009. Wendy joined Monash as a staff member in 2009 and is currently a Senior Lecturer in the Bachelor of Radiography and Medical Imaging Program. She had been strongly involved in developing the anatomy and pathology curriculum, including collating and cataloging pathology specimens with their clinical histories as an educational resource. In 2015 with colleagues she is initiating a program to enhance indigenous science learning.
