Chronic Disease Prevention & Management
Capacity Statement
The SPAHC takes a lifespan approach to research investigating the prevention and management of chronic disease. Our research includes individual approaches to specific populations such as falls prevention in older adults and optimising healthy aging with disability such as cerebral palsy. Our researchers also target specific clinical conditions such as enhancing self-management of diabetes, arthritis, musculoskeletal disorders, cancer, chronic obstructive airways disease, bronchiectasis, pelvic floor disorders and persistent pain. Another focus is on carer needs of people living with chronic conditions. We work with service providers in acute through to community health and disability settings, and we have expertise in collecting and analysing linked health data.
