Bella is currently a lecturer in the Student Academic Support Unit where she provides language support to students with their academic coursework. She has developed curriculum and taught academic English and academic skills to both domestic and international students.
Bella's current research interests include social work education and online education. She has conducted research across higher education institutions, international professional communities and Indigenous Australian communities using both qualitative and quantitative research methods.
She consults on online educational practice, and is currently evaluating a professional healthcare MOOC for learners in low- and middle-income countries in collaboration with the World Health Organisation.
Bella has published articles in top education and linguistic journals internationally.
