Melissa has had more than twelve years of experience working in major research laboratories in Singapore working on DNA vaccines for infectious diseases, prenatal diagnosis and DNA testing for common genetic diseases such as Thalassemia, Huntington’s Disease and Fragile X syndrome. She then moved into research operations and administration work and for the past nine years, she had been involved in a number of multi-million projects such as the development of core platforms for the new research tower – the Discovery Tower of SingHealth (Singapore’s largest healthcare provider). Melissa moved to Melbourne in 2012 and joined the National Trauma Research Institute (NTRI) in 2013 where she was a key member in the Evidence Service group that uses mainly systematic review methodologies to address topic areas and questions identified by NTRI’s industry partners such as Institute for Safety Compensation and Recovery Research (ISCRR) and Transport Accident Commission (TAC). She was also involved in the production of the inaugural report of the Australian Trauma Registry in 2014.

Melissa holds a Master of Science in Microbiology from the National University of Singapore and a Bachelor of Applied Science from RMIT University.
