Micaela has over 15 years experience working in various roles across public health including previously serving as Mayor for the City of Monash and as a Ministerial Adviser to a former Victorian Health Minister. Micaela is passionate about health policy, advocacy and settings based health promotion - or put simply, how gender and where we live, work, play and study can influence our lives.
Micaela joined the Department of Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine in 2014 as a teaching associate and is now Chief Examiner and Unity Coordinator for several units within the Bachelor of Health Sciences and Master of Public Health. Prior to joining Monash University, Micaela also taught public health and urban planning subjects with other universities for an additional 10 years. Micaela joined the Medical Education and Research Quality Unit team in 2017 and works with the teaching team to deliver the School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine Teachings Associate Coaching Program and other professional development training to help support teaching staff within the faculty.
