Andrew joined Monash University Department of Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine in 2002. His research background is in cardiovascular pharmacology, with an interest the mechanisms of disease progression.
Andrew heads the in vivo drug discovery lab within the Monash Centre of Cardiovascular Research and Education in Therapeutics, where he investigates the pathogenesis of cardiac and cardiorenal disease, and studies the effects of novel compounds in a variety of clinically relevant disease models. His is funded by the NHMRC, and works closely with R&D departments of several major Pharmaceutical companies in the interest of developing clinical relevant agents for the treatment of heart failure and cardiorenal syndrome.
He also holds an Honorary appointment at the University of Melbourne.
