Tyler is a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in the Monash Centre for Occupational and Environmental Health (MonCOEH), where he works on the ARC-Linkage grant study of injured Victorian workers in the context of an ageing workforce and increasing psychological health claims. He divides his time between SPHPM and the Institute for Safety, Compensation, and Recovery Research (ISCRR), where he works on the ComPARE Project.
After graduating with a BA in Psychology from the University of Connecticut in 2006, Tyler completed an MSc (2009) and DPhil (2013) in Evidence-Based Intervention at the University of Oxford. His doctoral research was on young carers in deprived South African communities. Prior to joining Monash, Tyler was a Research Project Manager at the Health, Economics, and HIV/AIDS Research Division (HEARD) at the University of KwaZulu-Natal in Durban and a statistician in the Ministry of Justice in London.
