Sam is currently completing a PhD with a topic in biostatistics. His PhD is entitled 'Joint longitudinal and time-to-event models for applications in health research' and is being supervised by Professor Rory Wolfe.
He has a background in applied statistics, having studied at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. He has more than five years' experience working within academic health research departments as an applied statistician. This has included work at the School of Population Health (University of Queensland), Research Centre for Gender, Health and Ageing (University of Newcastle) and the School of Social and Community Medicine (University of Bristol). His primary research interests are related to statistical methods for analysing longitudinal data from cohort studies.
He also has experience tutoring for statistics courses at undergraduate level.
He is a member of both the Royal Statistical Society and the Statistical Society of Australia.
