ACHHRA was established in 2002 as a consortium of four Australian universities with expertise in human health risk assessment with a grant from the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing through the Innovations Program of the Public Health Education and Research Program (PHERP). ACHHRA is led by Director, Professor Brian Priestly. Since completion of the PHERP-funded project in 2006, ACHHRA has become associated with the Monash Centre for Occupational and Environmental Health (MonCOEH).
