How to become involved in the Bariatric Surgery Registry
If you are a patient who would like to become involved in the Bariatric Surgery Registry, you may speak to your treating surgeon and enquire as to whether or not they are contributing to the registry. If so, you can ask to be included as a patient.
Once you are participating as a patient, registry staff will then send you a Patient Explanatory Statement in the post which explains the study in more detail.
Already involved in a registry?
If you are already participating in the registry as a patient, you should have received a Patient Explanatory Statement in the mail approximately two weeks after your bariatric procedure. This statement includes your hospital’s logo on the header and explains the study to you in detail and also includes instructions on how to opt-off of the registry.
