Professor Paul Myles is the Chair of the Academic Board of Anaesthesia and Perioperative Medicine, as well as the current Director of Anaesthesia and Perioperative Medicine at the Alfred. In addition, Professor Myles is an Australian National Health & Medical Research Council Practitioner Fellow and lead investigator for the ATACAS, ENIGMA II and RELIEF Trials.

ANZCA Clinical Trials Network Chair

Kate Leslie trained in anaesthesia in Melbourne and works as a staff specialist and Head of Anaesthesia Research at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. Her clinical interests include neurosurgery, colorectal surgery and sedation for endoscopy. She is an honorary professorial fellow in the Department of Pharmacology at the University of Melbourne, adjunct professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine at Monash University and researchlead investigator for the POISE 2 Trial (Australia & New Zealand) and the Balanced Anaesthesia Study (Australia).
Karen Goulding   Ms Karen Goulding BSc (Hons), MPH
ANZCA Clinical Trials Network Manager

Karen Goulding joined the trials group in January 2014 and her primary role is to provide high quality research support to the Clinical Trials Network for multicentre research in anaesthesia, pain and perioperative medicine. Karen will also assist the Network to form new collaborations with other trials networks, nationally and internationally, and support Fellows, trainees and staff of ANZCA in areas such as survey research, pilot grant scheme administration and through ANZCA publications and research workshops. Karen's background is in basic research and public health and was previously employed as a project officer at the Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre where she coordinated a range of projects for the Gynaecological Oncology Research Collaborative.

ANZCA Clinical Trials Network Coordinator

Sofia joined the ANZCA Clinical Trials Network at Monash in February 2013, coordinating The Balanced Anaesthesia Study for Australian and International sites. Sofia divides her time between Monash and coordinating anaesthesia research Austin Health, where she has been involved in ANZCA Clinical Trials Network activities for many years. Sofia has an ICU background and her recent experience was as a Nurse Organ Donation Specialist.
jaspreetMs Jaspreet Sidhu RN, MHSc (crit care), MBA (exec)
ANZCA Clinical Trials Network Coordinator

Jaspreet joined the ANZCA Clinical Trials Network at Monash in April 2015 and will be managing the Perioperative ADministration of Dexamethasone and Infection trial (PADDI). Jaspreet has a background in critical care, with experience in clinical research, organ and tissue donation, quality and clinical governance and most recently in clinical quality and performance monitoring of the Victorian correctional health system. Jaspreet has worked these various roles across public and university sectors, including Victorian Institute of Forensic Medicine, Eastern Health, Department of Justice and Deakin University. Jaspreet's experience as a critical care nurse, combined with her clinical research project management and operational management skills, positions her perfectly for her new role to manage the PADDI trial.
