Dr Crighton joined TRU in February 2014 as Clinical Research Fellow with the Blood Service. Within TORC she has been involved with the NAIT and Haemogloobinopathy registries. Gemma completed her medical undergraduate training at the University of Auckland, New Zealand in 2004. She completed her fellowship with the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia and Royal Australasian College of Physicians (Child Health Division) in 2013. She is currently employed as a paediatric haematologist at the Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne. She is a member of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Blood Transfusion and member of the Patient Blood Management, Paediatric/Neonatal Consumer Reference Group. Her interests include paediatric blood transfusion, paediatric benign haematology, obstetric haematology and neonatal alloimmune thrombocytopenia.
