Liz is Research Fellow and Project Manager of the Myeloma and Related Diseases Registry with the Transfusion Research Unit at DEPM, Monash. She also manages the ANTISEPSIS substudy of the 19,000 participant ASPREE Public Health trial of aspirin to reduce events in the elderly. She completed a traumatic brain injury-related Research Fellowship with the Australian and New Zealand Intensive Care (ANZIC) Research Centre where she conducted her PhD investigating potential treatments for, and early markers of acute kidney injury in patients with traumatic brain injury. This involved the conduction of the Renal Substudies of the EPO-TBI and POLAR multicentre clinical trials. Liz has completed a biostatistics/epidemiology streamed Master of Public Health, has extensive experience as a critical care nurse and has worked as Research Coordinator in the Royal Melbourne Hospital ICU and Victorian Infectious Diseases Service. She is a member of the Research Advisory Panel of the Australian College of Critical Care Nurses (ACCCN) and the ACCCN Victorian Management Committee. Her research interests include registry science (myeloma), neurocritical care, acute kidney injury, erythropoietin, intravenous fluid therapy in critical illness, cardiac surgical outcomes and renal biomarkers.
