Luke has joined the newly established Australian and New Zealand Lymphoma and Related Diseases Registry (LaRDR) in the Transfusion Research Unit, operating within the Critical Care Division at the Department of Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine. Luke has a PhD in medicine from the University of Sydney where he investigated the effect of acute oral morphine on obstructive sleep apnoea, focusing on identifying the role of opioid-induced changes in ventilatory chemoreflexes and genetic markers in predicting individual opioid response. Luke has commenced in the role keen to work within a team of experts extending his clinical research and public health knowledge into the field of haematology. He is excited about the future potential of the LaRDR to explore the epidemiology of disease, benchmark outcomes nationally and internationally, act as a resource for clinical trials and to improve patient care.
