Here for you

We are here to support you

The teams at the Gippsland and North West Victorian Regional Training Hub are here to help support junior doctors and medical students, their clinical supervisors and regional health services. Find out more about our partners and stakeholders.

Students and junior doctors

We can help you to:

  • Understand local workforce and training options.
  • See your “blue sky” so that you make the best training choices for each stage of your rural training and keep your options flexible.
  • Explore research opportunities as part of your training program.
  • Explore career opportunities and options, including how personal circumstances can be balanced with training requirements.

We can also:

  • Introduce you to doctors in the region already on your proposed pathway.
  • Work with key stakeholders along the rural training pathway to lessen the “pot holes” in your pathway.
  • Support you with a local mentoring program.

Need to train away from this region but want to be rural? We can refer you to other Regional Training Hubs.

Regional health services

We can help you to:

  • Support training opportunities for the local health workforce, especially in areas of need.
  • Map possible new pathways, including in partnership with metro/other regions.
  • Identify funding opportunities

We can also:

  • Support submissions for funding.
  • Assist you in the accreditation processes for new training placements.
  • Support local health professionals to become clinical supervisors.
