The student experience in psychiatry

"Psychiatry in Mildura is an amazing rotation that I would highly recommend to those interested in mental health. .... There is the opportunity to follow patients from triage, through the inpatient ward and into continuing care, giving you a deeper understanding of the care a mental health patient receives.  There is also the opportunity to spend more time in areas of interest such as child and youth, aged persons, early psychosis and consultation liaison.

The psychiatrists in Mildura are supportive, enjoy teaching and are always available for mentoring throughout the placement. Aside from all this, the best thing about psychiatry in Mildura is the friendly, supportive staff. Each team you work with appreciate the time you are able to devote to them and value your interest and knowledge, making it a wonderful rotation."  Stephanie op't Hoog, Year 5D.
