About STAREE

STAREE is a double-blind, randomised primary prevention trial investigating whether daily active treatment of Atorvastatin versus placebo will enhance disability-free survival (death, dementia and disability) and prevent major cardiovascular outcomes in healthy participants aged 70 years and over. The trial is primarily funded by the National Health and Medical Research Council of Australia.

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity for a Clinical Trial Officer to join the STAREE clinical trial located in Bendigo. The successful candidate will be responsible for approaching and liaising with GPs to join as a co-investigator in the study as well as delivering study visits with participants.

The main responsibility of the Clinical Trial Officer will be directly supporting the STAREE principal investigators and project manager in all aspects of conduct and implementation of a clinical trial. The Clinical Trial Officer will also liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including physicians and nursing staff at general practices and/or hospitals and trial participants. The incumbent will be responsible for a large region in Central Victoria, with many locations inaccessible by public transport. Some overnight stays may be required.

About You

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of having the ability to solve problems by using innovation and exercising diagnostic skills within areas of functional responsibility or professional expertise, have the ability to prioritise tasks in a busy environment and a high level of written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. You should enjoy travelling and be confident in approaching general practice clinics and working with participants.
