Alternative Exit Readmission Policy

Purpose

This policy defines limitations for coursework degree students in the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences, who have been awarded an alternative exit from their degree, and who wish to continue undertaking their original degree.

Scope

The policy applies to coursework degree programs which have provision for alternative exits and are managed by the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing & Health Sciences.

Policy Statement

Postgraduate awards

Once an alternative exit has been awarded, the student may continue with the original degree or higher award from which the alternative exit was awarded. This may occur immediately or after a period of time, providing the course is open for admission in that academic year or at the discretion of the course convenor. To calculate the maximum time allowable to complete the original degree or higher award, refer to the Faculty Course Duration Policy and the University Credit Policy.

Undergraduate awards

Students awarded an alternative exit from an undergraduate program are not permitted to recommence the original course of study.
