As Director of the Monash Energy Materials and Systems Institute (MEMSI), Associate Professor Jacek Jasieniak is involved in developing the sustainable electricity microgrid on Monash’s Clayton campus which will contribute to the university’s plan to achieve net zero emissions by 2030.
Jacek has extensive industrial and academic research experience in the areas of energy materials and technology.
His research focuses on developing advanced nanoscale materials to fabricate coatings and electronic devices, such as solar cells, photoconductors, light emitting devices and chemical sensors, to make them smaller, better and smarter.
As Deputy Director of the Monash Energy Materials and Systems Institute (MEMSI) and Senior Lecturer at Monash’s Faculty of Information Technology, Associate Professor Ariel Liebman leads Monash's Digital Energy initiatives. He brings together researchers from across disciplines such as Data Science, Optimisation and Electrical Engineering to identify ways to integrate new and renewable technologies into the system optimally.
As the General Manager of MEMSI, Shreejan has facilitated researchers and industry partners to define, develop and lead the formation of strategic multi-year industry research programs in the following 3 thematic areas Energy Transformation, Eradicating Energy Poverty and New Energy Innovation.
