Christmas with Ludwig
Monash Academy Orchestra
Celebrate Christmas and Ludwig Beethoven’s 250th birthday with a concert live stream from the Alexander Theatre on 18 December, now available on demand.
The Monash Academy Orchestra will perform Beethoven’s exhilarating 1st Piano Concerto, Deborah Cheetham’s Welcome to Country and five traditional Christmas carols that you know and love. This is a fantastic opportunity to watch the orchestra and brilliant pianist, Caroline Almonte perform live, alongside pre-recorded choral performances from Melbourne’s finest choirs. Respected conductor Roy Theaker will lead the concert, which will bring together student musicians, professional artists and community singers.
Tune in, turn up the volume, and enjoy an evening of joyous melodies at home with friends and family. Pay homage to a classical virtuoso through a celebration of his life and music.
