Eric Whitacre Choral Workshop

Join Grammy-winning composer and conductor Eric Whitacre for an exclusive choral workshop.

One of the most popular composers of our generation, Whitacre’s emotive and harmonic work has been performed around the world by millions of amateur and professional musicians alike. His Virtual Choirs have united singers from over 120 countries.

This workshop provides an opportunity for singers to rehearse and work with him on some of his most-loved works. Repertoire will include A Boy and a Girl, The Seal Lullaby (with piano) and Child of Wonder (from The Sacred Veil). Music will be provided on the day.

‘It’s been too long since I’ve been in the incredible city of Melbourne. I’m thrilled to have the chance to work with you on a couple of my pieces. We’ll sing, we’ll study, we’ll talk, we’ll laugh!’– Eric Whitacre

This event is open to participants of all ages, however, those under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. Participants should be comfortable reading music. Participants will be seated in the newly renovated Alexander Theatre for a 60-minute workshop followed by a 30-minute Q&A session.
If you have any questions about the workshop, please contact Hannah Trinca (Production Coordinator) at Monash Academy of Performing Arts on 03 9902 4160 or email hannah.trinca@monash.edu.
