Prize Fighter – Cancelled

**Due to unforeseen circumstances the upcoming performance of the Prize Fighter at George Jenkins Theatre Friday 26 and Saturday 27 October has been cancelled. For those wishing to see the performance it is being performed as part of Melbourne Festival Tuesday 9 – Saturday 20 October and at Budjil Place Tuesday October 23.**

Prize Fighter is adrenaline-pumping, full-contact theatre at its best.

La Boite Theatre Company and Brisbane Festival’s highly acclaimed theatre production, Prize Fighter is coming to the George Jenkins Theatre at Monash University’s Peninsula campus as part of MLIVE’s program of events from 26 – 27 October 2018.

Fleeing the Congo as a child, playwright Future D. Fidel lived in a Tanzanian refugee camp for eight years before being granted refugee status in Australia. Prize Fighter is inspired by his own story and those of the people he has known.

Isa is a young Congolese boxer blazing an impressive career between the ropes. Gearing up for the national title fight, he soon discovers it’s not just his opponents he has to outdo, but the demons from his tortuous past as a boy soldier.
