Welcome to Monash Prato Open Day 2019

The week is an opportunity for students and locals to celebrate and learn more about the student experience in Prato. We look forward to opening our doors and welcoming you to the Monash University Prato Centre at Palazzo Vaj on Thursday 11 April from 5pm onwards.

Events

    • Guided tour of the Monash Centre

      FareArte will take you on a historical journey of Palazzo Vaj, passing through the spaces of the Monash Prato Centre and arriving in the beautiful Italian Garden, re-opened in 2016.

      Meeting point: Reception (first floor)

      Time: from 5pm

      For: All ages

      Additional info: Places are limited. Book online by 10 April. Additional places may be available on the day.

    • Speedy Conversation Exchange

      Speedy Conversation is a great way to make new friends and learn about Prato, chat with locals in English (and Italian!), and win prizes. Speedy takes inspiration from our popular Conversation Exchange program which runs regularly at the Centre.

      Venue: Salone Grollo (first floor)

      Time: 5.30pm

      For: Anyone from age 14 upwards

      Additional info: Participants will receive a Monash University Prato Centre t-shirt and will be entered in a prize draw. Complete the online form selecting ‘English Speaker’ or ‘Italian Speaker’ according to your first language. This is a popular event with limited places. Don’t miss out - book online by 10 April.

    • Kids’ Corner

      In our Kids’ Corner, young children can discover Australian animals, learn English rhymes, and be guided in play by trained educators from I-Camp.

      Venue: Sala Giochi (first floor)

      Time: 6pm

      For: Kids from ages 3 to 7 only

      Additional info: This is a popular event with limited places - registration is required by 10 April. Book now to avoid disappointment!

    • Tech Corner

      Ever wondered what our Australian campuses are like? Come and find out at Open Day: you will travel to Melbourne and wander around our Australian campuses with the help of virtual reality technology.

      Venue: Seminar 1 (ground floor)

      Time: From 6pm onwards

      For: All ages

      Additional info: Just come along on the day! No need to register.

    • Australian Barbecue

      Come and try some Australian-style delicacies with a Tuscan touch. To attend the barbecue, please collect your BBQ ticket at the Monash entrance.

      Venue: Garden (ground floor)

      Time: from 7.30pm onwards

      For: All ages

      Additional info: Collect a BBQ ticket at the entrance.

    • Studying in Australia

      Have you ever thought about studying overseas? Would you like information about how to study at Monash University in Australia? You will find information about opportunities to study at Monash University in Melbourne as an international student and about how to begin your university pathway in Australia. If you are already a university student, you can find out about opportunities for exchange between Monash and some major Italian universities including Florence, Milan, Venice, Trieste, and Bologna. Talk to a staff member to find out more!

    Prato Campus Week 2019

    One city, three universities and three days of events open to the local community. The 7th edition of Prato Campus Week returns on the 10th, 11th and 12th April this year. The event is organised by Prato’s three universities: PIN - Polo Universitario 'Città di Prato', Monash University Prato Centre and University of New Haven, in collaboration with the Municipality of Prato.
