Universities advancing the SDGs
Universities have an essential role in helping the world achieve the SDGs. MSDI, including as host and leader of SDSN Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific, is a global leader in inspiring and mobilising universities across the world to deepen their engagement with the SDGs through their teaching, research, operations and community leadership.

Global guides for universities on the SDGs
MSDI was the lead author of globally eminent SDSN guides, ‘Getting Started with the SDGs in Universities’, and ‘Accelerating Education for the SDGs in Universities’.

Monash engagement with the SDGs
MSDI works closely with colleagues across Monash to produce Monash’s SDG Progress Reports, submissions to the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings, and other SDG-related reporting.

Accelerating SDG practice
MSDI co-leads this SDSN Australia, NZ & Pacific and ACTS regional community of practice initiative, aiming to accelerate and scale up action on the SDGs by universities and knowledge institutions.

Transforming universities: Perspectives on the SDGs and the role of universities
This PhD thesis by MSDI’s Andrea Cuesta-Carlos compares different emerging university models to understand how they relate to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
