BehaviourWorks Australia
BehaviourWorks Australia
BehaviourWorks Australia is a leading behaviour change research enterprise within the Monash Sustainable Development Institute.
Our BehaviourWorks team brings leading behaviour change researchers together with government and industry professionals to find behavioural solutions to real-world social, environmental and organisational problems. Established in 2011 by MSDI together with our consortium partners, BehaviourWorks is now the largest applied behaviour change unit in Australia. As part of MSDI, BehaviourWorks is committed to making an impact on the interrelated challenges identified in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Major projects
Waste Collaboration
Together with local, state and federal government agencies, BehaviourWorks has established a Waste and Circular Economy Collaboration to identify which behaviour change approaches will encourage households, businesses and the wider Australian community to avoid, reduce and recycle waste.
Inclusive Australia
Inclusive Australia is a new social movement that brings individuals and organisations together to break down barriers and prejudice in our country. Our BehaviourWorks team surveyed thousands of Australians about their attitudes, and experiences of discrimination and published the findings in Australia’s first-ever Social Inclusion Index.
VMIA Health Trials
As part of a $1.5M Victorian Managed Insurance Authority Patient Safety Research and Innovation Program, BehaviourWorks developed and ran six health trials targeting areas in which problems commonly occur within the health system.
