MSDI is delighted to announce the appointments of Professor Rob Raven as MSDI’s inaugural Deputy Director (Research), Dr Annette Bos as Deputy Director (Education) and Mr Rod Glover as Deputy Director (Enterprise).
Our three new Deputy Directors will be working together to cement the Institute’s role as a platform for creating solutions - through research, education and enterprise - to the complex and interconnected challenges of the Sustainable Development Goals. The positions will be part of the MSDI Executive Team.
As Deputy Director (Research), Professor Raven will lead the Institute’s interdisciplinary research strategy – facilitating and stimulating interdisciplinary and multi-faculty research projects that create pathways to sustainable development policy and practice. Professor Raven will commence his appointment at MSDI in June 2018.
Dr Annette Bos joined the Institute in 2015 and has led MSDI’s contribution to the cross-faculty Master of Environment and Sustainability and overseen our doctoral program. Annette will now lead the Institute’s education strategy, working with academics and industry experts to equip people and organisations with the skills they need to drive positive change and achieve the SDGs. Dr Bos commenced her expanded role in January 2018.
In the role of Deputy Director (Enterprise), Mr Rod Glover, Professor of Practice, will drive MSDI’s efforts to increase the relevance, use and impact of our research and education. Working across government, industry and civil society, Mr Glover will focus on maximising MSDI’s partnerships and networks to facilitate the application of sustainable development research and education in the community at large. Rod commenced his position in February 2018.
