| Description | This talk will review some of the most critical environmental issues facing us at the global and how we need to act locally to solve them. This seminar weaves together discussion of global land cover change, surface water pollution, climate change, biodiversity protection and their monitoring and modelling. These will be put in a broader context of planetary health. ABOUT PROFESSOR PENG GONG Peng Gong is Chair Professor of Global Sustainability at the University of Hong Kong. He built the Department of Earth System Science and served as Dean of School of Sciences at Tsinghua University. He also served as the founding director of Tsinghua Urban Institute.
