Sam Loni named 'Young Peacemaker' at Nobel Peace Prize Forum

SDSN-Youth´s Global Coordinator and MSDI staff member, Siamak Sam Loni, was awarded the Young Peacemakers Prize along with fellow SDSN-Youth member Isabel Pérez Dobarro from Spain, at the Nobel Peace Prize Forum in New York in September 2017.

Each year the Nobel Peace Prize Forum (NPPF) brings together Nobel laureates, world leaders, and accomplished peacemakers with students and community members to work on building a world in which people can live full, rich, meaningful lives.

The award recognises the SDSN Youth's peacemaking efforts worldwide, including its commitment to foster dialogue for peace, and its promotion for action by youth in implementing the SDGs.

The goal of the conference is to inspire peacemaking efforts through exposure to the exemplary work of past Nobel Peace Prize Laureates. This year´s forum focused on action and results. Through a series of high-level dialogue sessions, practitioners, stakeholders, and decision-makers met to advance work on issues such as job creation, peace education, and “peace by design”.
