Monash tops rankings as world’s most productive organisation for road safety studies

Monash University has been identified as the most productive organisation in the world for road safety studies. The finding was the result of research published in the leading journal Accident Analysis & Prevention which described a systematic analysis of road safety studies published in Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) and Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI) between 2000 and 2018. Monash contributed 220 articles during this period, ahead of Queensland University of Technology (215), University of British Columbia in Canada (121), Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands (96) and China’s Tongji University (95). The study also showed that Monash ranks highest for links with other research organisations, making the University a key node in the global collaboration network of road safety scholars.
