Monash University, Caulfield Campus
MUMA opens its doors to prospective students, families, friends and the public on Sunday 5 August as part of Monash University Open Day 2018.
Robert Smithson: Time Crystals
Visit Robert Smithson: Time Crystals, the first exhibition in Australia dedicated to the work of American artist Robert Smithson (1938–73). Best known for his radical land art of the 1960s and early 1970s, Smithson is now widely recognised as one of the most influential artists of the twentieth century. Inspired by ideas of crystalline geometry and non-biological time, he redefined abstraction and challenged art history, declaring that ‘Nature gives way to the incalculable cycles of nonduration.’
Get your creative on at MUMA. First 150 visitors on the day take home a free crystal-themed ‘Colour in and Keep’ tote bag, proudly sponsored by Fresh Promotions.
Share your talent and win prizes and giveaways! Snap a photo of your finished tote and share on IG, with tags #timecrystals and #mumamonash to win prizes generously donated by: ZART Art; Dinosaur Designs; MUMA Book Shop; Monash MLIVE; Monsu, Student Union; NixCo media, Zambrero and Classic Cinemas.
