Adam Cruickshank is an artist, graphic designer and intermittent publisher. He teaches at Monash University’s faculty of Art Design & Architecture and is pursuing doctoral studies at RMIT’s School of Design.

During Bookworks, Cruickshank enacts his Terms & Conditions project. Comprising a performative publishing workshop in the gallery and including contributions from guest participants including Xavier Antin, Terri Bird, Lizzie Boon, Alex Margetic, Ian Milliss, Spiros Panigirakis, Selena Repanis and Rachel Schenberg, this project explores the nature of the relationships between exhibited art practices and the printed matter that both supports and frames them.

Adam will be working in the gallery most Thursdays and Fridays throughout the exhibition, joined at various times by his interlocutors. Feel free to pop in and join them as they cut and glue, re-do, un-do and generally attempt to provoke the power of printed language.

The artist was resident at the book fair for all opening hours producing ephemera that was about the site of the fair itself. Publications were made on demand and given away for free to the public. Over 300 publications were made during the two days. Courtesy of the artist
