Computational Neuroimaging

We develop data science techniques for brain mapping in health and disease.

Our aim is to develop and validate mathematical models that can capture complexity of the brain’s structure and function.

We’ve developed advanced (Bayesian) models of how different parts of the brain interact with each other to understand brain’s functional organisation. We use these models to integrate empirical data, measured using MRI and electromagnetic responses – such as EEG/MEG – to investigate basic disease mechanisms in neurodegenerative disorders, e.g., Huntington ’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease and Frontotemporal Dementia.

Dr Adeel Razi is a Senior Research Fellow, ARC DECRA Fellow and Principal Investigator of Computational and Systems Neuroscience Laboratory at MICCN. He previously worked at the Wellcome Centre for Human Neuroimaging of University College London from 2012 to 2018. He earned his PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of NSW in 2012.
