- Open to:
- Alumni; Business and Economics
This inaugural event is designed for enterprising women interested in talking about women's enterprising activities, whether they be social entrepreneurs, entrepreneurs or small business owners, as well as policy makers and researchers.
In Australia, the number of businesses founded by women increased over the last 20 years, with about a third of female small business operators being born overseas. Women's enterprising is visible through blogs, social media and websites, yet there is little research about it. It is known that many women have found an outlet for their entrepreneurial activities in smaller enterprises that provide more flexibility than in the corporate world. However, in small enterprises, processes are often informal and issues of equity and fairness may impact on those who work in and manage small enterprises.
