Recognition of the way in which our brains are deeply embedded within the social, cultural and physical world can have profound ethical and social implications for the application of developments in neuroscience research.
The Brain in Context will explore three different ways in which the social, cultural and physical world impacts upon our reflections on brain science.
This Humanities, Social Sciences and Medicine Network symposium will feature special presentations by Prof Judy Illes from the University of British Columbia and Past President of the International Neuroethics Society (Order of Canada) and Prof Cordelia Fine (University of Melbourne), author of the award winning Delusions of Gender.
