For two weeks in May, Progress – A Festival of Ideas blends music, new media, comedy and theatre to discuss "progress" and its meaning in today’s rapidly-changing world.

Taking place at Clayton campus between 16 and 26 May, the festival celebrates the opening of the Ian Potter Centre for Performing Arts, a centre that's been four years in the making.

Progress – A Festival of Ideas includes more than 15 shows, along with an impressive talk series, exploring themes of feminism, creativity in exile, technology and more.  There will be performances by Australian icons Archie Roach and Paul Grabowsky. A comedy gala night with Tom Ballard, Zoe Coombs Marr, Rod Quantock and special guests. New theatre and cabaret, plus an impressive talk series, exploring themes of feminism, creativity in exile, technology, and more.
