Description

Health and Physical Education programs often consist of a variety of units that focus on one sport at a time. This can constrain student learning and engagement in a range of ways.

Join Monash Senior Lecturer Dr Laura Alfrey and ACHPER Professional Learning Manager Dr Bernie Holland for this engaging seminar.

They will demonstrate how Primary and Secondary HPE teachers can structure their program using themes or categories, as a way to advance student learning and engagement.

The session will illustrate, with examples from the ACHPER Victoria Movement and Physical Activity Resources, how a themed approach meets relevant aspects of the Victorian Curriculum.

After the seminar, teachers will have the capacity to address the 'Active Play and Minor Games' (F-6), Fundamental Movement Skills (F-6), and 'Games and Sports' (3-10) Focus Areas with a fresh and evidence-based approach.

Event is free, registration essential, live streaming available.
