Background:

I am originally an Electronics & Instrumentation Technician by trade, having worked in Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) manufacturing environments. Whilst working as an Aerospace Technician servicing the Australian Defence Forces, I obtained a passion for Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) after becoming a Health and Safety Representative (HSR) in a diverse work environment.

Throughout this time, my passion for safety continued to grow whilst I strived to expand my knowledge of OHS by further studying external to the workplace. Using my combined safety and trade skillsets, I was able to impact and influence the safety systems, methods and culture of the workplace to ensure an environment where safety was given equal merit to production and quality of the items manufactured.

I wanted to pursue a full time occupational position in safety, finally making the transition in a Safety Advisor position with one of the largest packaging manufacturers in the world, servicing their Victorian manufacturing operations. Obtaining a position with Monash solidified my ambition to work alongside like-minded safety professionals with a recognised leader in OHS. I look forward to working in a diverse and complex organisation in the tertiary sector.
