Radiation Protection Officer and OHS Advisor
I have a dual role in the OHS team.
In my role as Radiation Protection Officer I manage and coordinate radiation safety across the whole University, dealing with safety, security and compliance issues for use of radioactive material, X-rays, and non-ionising radiation sources.
As an OHS Advisor I give general OHS advice and support to my specific areas.
I trained as a Medical Physicist, but moved into radiation safety when I was offered a job with the government radiation regulator. Radiation safety led to general research safety, which at Monash means an astonishing variety of activities.
