To attend one of the above classes please follow the process below:

Watch the tutorial video here prior to following the below steps to see the new changes

  1. Visit the Monash Shop and log in by clicking on the top right hand corner with your authcate
  2. Search for your relevant class(es) by entering the SWAP ID in the search bar at the top or clicking under the Health and Wellbeing tiles.
  3. Once you find your product, complete the pre-exercise health screen form (which will open in a new tab) and tick the checkbox option once completed.
  4. Add the item(s) into your cart and proceed to payment (by clicking the trolley item). Each individual attending for the program must pay for themselves. Payments should not be made by others on behalf of someone else.
  5. If your faculty or division subsidises these program, please insert the voucher code on the second page before proceeding to make payment. Under no circumstances are payments to be made by cost centre and fund. All payments need be made via credit card, debit card or paypal only.

Please note that registration/payment for classes close three business days before the class commences. Please also note that attendance will not be permitted without payment.

Mental Health

Mindfulness for productivity, efficiency and sustainable performance

Mindfulness can be described as a form of meditation but also a way of living and working. One of the main reasons for the rise of interest in mindfulness in this fast-paced, high-pressure modern world is because of its ability to help people to manage stress and enhance mental and emotional wellbeing. This interactive and experiential presentation will explore how mindfulness meditation and a series of simple cognitive strategies based on mindfulness can help reduce stress and foster greater resilience and better mental health.

Mindful Relationships

You will learn how to use mindfulness and compassion training to reduce stress and improve your relationship with yourself and others. Research shows this results in better wellbeing and enhanced performance, as well as increased empathy and improved relationships.

Nutritional Health

The Healthy Eating SWAP program will inspire you to change the way you think about meals and meal preparation with some good food advice on making healthy choices the easy choices and demonstrating and tasting of new recipes that are easy to prepare and incorporate into your daily meals. This program will consist of four 45 minutes sessions running over 4 weeks and aimed at making improved nutritional choices easier and interesting for you and your family. Some food samples will be provided each week.

Week 1: Menu planning and shopping list development for busy families

Do you struggle each night trying to work out what to eat for dinner? Would you like some suggestions on how to plan your meals and shop more efficiently so that mad rush to the supermarket after work is a thing of the past? This session is for you.

Week 2: Incorporating more fruit vegetables and legumes

We all know we should be eating 2 serves of fruit and 5 serves of vegetables each day and that legumes are good for us to eat but it can be hard to achieve that goal without good planning. Come along and learn about some interesting ways to incorporate more fruit, vegetables and legumes into your daily diet.

Week 3: Easy family meals incorporating the Australian Guide to Healthy Eating

This session will help you find new recipes and modify some existing family favourite recipes to make them healthier meals that the whole family can enjoy.

Week 4: Packed lunch ideas for the workplace

Are you sick of cheese sandwiches for lunch? Do you want some more inspiring lunch ideas that are easy to prepare and bring from home? Do you spend too much money buying your lunch? Would you like to know how you can make better choices when you buy your lunch? This session will answer these questions and more to make lunchtime exciting again.

Financial Health

All Monash staff are invited to register for a 4 Week UniSuper Financial Wellbeing program
UniSuper's four-part Financial Wellbeing program aims to help you get in control of your financial situation and make informed decisions now and in the future. The program is presented on your campus in partnership with Monash University and will guide you through the steps to take to help reduce financial stress and improve your long-term financial outlook.

Modules for the program

Module 1: Saving in a world of spending
How do you set and remain committed to your financial goals? What are the secrets to remaining flexible in the face of changed circumstances? This seminar will give you the knowhow to get in control or back on track.

Module 2: Creating wealth - Investing inside and outside super
How do you match your investment decisions to your financial goals? In this seminar, we shine light on what to consider when setting an investment time horizon and determining your appetite for risk. We'll also cover the core investment concepts to help you to make informed decisions.

Module 3: Protecting wealth - Insurance and estate planning
A crystal-clear insurance and estate plan can provide peace of mind and should financially protect you and your loved ones in case the unexpected happens. The third seminar of UniSuper’s four-part Financial Wellbeing series will cover the different kinds of insurance available and issues to consider when planning your estate. Whether you’re single, have a young family or are on the cusp of retirement, this seminar is relevant to all ages.

Module 4: Take control for the retirement you want
To make the most of superannuation, you need to choose the right product, determine your contribution and investment strategy, set up insurance and nominate beneficiaries. But where do you start? Where can you get help? These questions are the focus of UniSuper’s fourth and final Financial Wellbeing seminar.
