Blues Roulette Takeover

The Ian Potter Centre for Performing Arts

$10 - $25

Past Event

Melbourne Blues collective Blues Roulette takes over The Count’s for this special Saturday night performance featuring some incredible guest stars.

Musician, promoter and booking agent Ben Wicks has spent the last 15 years forging his place in Australian Blues which led to the creation of Blues Roulette in 2015. While based in the long-standing tradition of blues jams, Blues Roulette puts a unique spin on those traditions by placing Australia’s best known blues artists on the spot, in front of a roulette rhythm section, to create a one-time-only performance. Blues Roulette spins at different venues and festivals around Australia such as Port Fairy Folk Festival, Melbourne Guitar Show, and weekly residencies at Melbourne blues haunts The Catfish and Beneath Driver Lane.

For this special Saturday show, Blues Roulette hosts a takeover of The Count’s to present an all-star, all-blues lineup of musicians where the music won’t be predetermined, no charts, no safety nets – just blues – with iconic Melbourne guitarists Jimi Hocking and Jeff Achison as special guests.
