Hammond organ soul-jazz is the speciality of the Jake Mason Trio, quickly becoming one of Australia’s favourite jazz acts. Their impressive ARIA-nominated debut album Stranger in the Mirror premiered at Stonnington Jazz Festival and received rotation airplay on ABC Jazz. Their follow-up album is due for release this year.

Jake Mason is a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter who has released 12 albums and established a label and production house. Taking a cue from the golden era of organ trios (Jimmy Smith, Brother Jack McDuff, and Dr Lonnie Smith) and music from today’s melting pot, the trio weave their way through familiar sounds with a modern twist. An accomplished live performer, Mason has worked with Richard Clapton, Kylie Auldist, Clare Bowditch and Hugh Jackman, and has co-written with Kate Ceberano, Eric McCusker and Tania Doko.

Featuring Jake Mason (organ), James Sherlock (guitar) and Danny Fischer (drums).
