Multi-talented singer, songwriter, pianist and comedian Jude Perl returns to the Count’s to play her favourite soul and jazz standards, and share brand new original songs with her Very Nice Trio.
Texan-born, Melbourne-bred Jude Perl is a singer, songwriter and comedian based in Melbourne. They’ve written and performed six solo comedy shows, won three Green Room Awards for Best Original Songs, and her fifth show, I Have A Face won her a fourth Green Room Award for Cabaret Artiste as well as Best Cabaret at Melbourne Fringe 2018. In 2022, Jude also won Best Music at Melbourne Fringe for her unscripted live stream (in person) show.
Jude is also an accomplished music artist; In 2013, Her debut single, Girls & Boys received regular airplay on commercial radio all over Australia, including Fox FM and 2Day FM. Her debut album, Modern Times was produced in LA by Grammy-Award winning Engineer Brian Paturalski (Speakerboxxx/The Love Below, OutKast). Whilst in LA, Jude also worked with Colin Hay (Men At Work) recording her album track Canyon with him at his studio, and singing backing vocals on his album Next Year People. In 2016 several of Jude’s songs were featured in the internationally-acclaimed documentary Embrace created by activist and Body Image Movement founder Taryn Brumfitt.
An alumni of the Sir Zelman Cowan School of Music’s Jazz program, Jude’s stylistic and technical abilities lend themselves to jazz, soul and RnB, just as effortlessly as her comedy repertoire. By special request, Jude is coming to The Count’s for one Very Nice Show with a Very Nice Trio. Performing her favourite standards and sharing some brand new original songs.
