Explore the music of two champions of the orchestra – composers whose contribution to the orchestral landscape is undeniable.
Guided by conductor and MSO Cellist Nicholas Bochner, we’ll explore Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition, originally written for solo piano. Later orchestrated by Ravel, this work has captured the imagination of all who hear it, whilst Carl Vine’s symphony No.2 has the power and grandeur of Australia – a feast of contrast and sound!
This special concert format is ideal for curious students evolving their understanding of compositional technique and developing their analytical vocabulary.
