Past Event
Mem Fox is live onstage at Family Fiesta sharing all the adventures and fun of 40 years of Possum Magic. Pick up a lamington, a pumpkin scone or some minties in our cafe and be part of this special author event, with a chance to meet Mem in the foyer for a book signing afterwards!
Mem’s passion for telling entertaining stories continues in her 50th children’s picture book, Our Dragon, illustrated by Linda Davick, published by Penguin Australia.
Mem was born in Melbourne, grew up in Zimbabwe and, at age 19, left home to attend drama school in London. There she discovered that she adored teaching even more than performing. After a brief stint teaching English in Rwanda, Mem migrated to Adelaide with her husband, and began teaching drama. Following the birth of their daughter, Mem returned to university to study children’s literature as a mature age student. One of her first assignments resulted in the original draft of Possum Magic – and the rest as they say, is history. Or in this case – magic!
