Past Event

The Deans of Soul are like a United Nations of Indigenous and Non Indigenous Australians unified in the one soul groove.

The Deans of Soul (formally the Grenadines) are a critically acclaimed original Soul band based in Melbourne. They bring the sound of modern and original soul into the gritty metropolis of Melbourne’s Rock City. Winners of The Age Music Victoria Award for Best Indigenous Act 2014, and nominated for Band of the Year in the prestigious Deadly Awards in 2007.

Merging old-school soul and funk with elements of cool rocksteady, rhythm, and blues, The Deans of Soul infuse their music with an original modern Melbourne soul sound. Featuring velvet-smooth vocals, sweet harmonies, soaring heartbreak guitar, deep Motown bass grooves and hip-shaking rhythms, The Deans of Soul combine soul, funk, and R&B influences to create songs of emotion and of the heart.
