The Experience brings together 5 future legendary musicians heading into the prime of their careers. Inspired by his father’s words to share culture as a way to bring encouragement following the challenges of 2020, the band’s founder Zii Wacho (who is also a gifted rapper/poet), set out to write music that would bring life to a world that journeyed through a global pandemic and a racial reckoning. Struggling to find words to describe the world around him, Wacho came up with a series of instrumental songs, and was inspired to form a band that would bring these instrumentals to life, and carry out a message of hope through spiritual and Afro-Jazz. The Experience was born.
This quintet understands that music and culture are two elements that allow people to begin the process of healing. Their live shows encourage audiences to dance to the percussive rhythms, while shaking off the memories of a challenging year.
