Past Event

Love to sing? Love choir? Don’t miss your chance to take a workshop with Grammy award winning composer Eric Whitacre.

This workshop provides an opportunity for singers to rehearse and work with Eric on some of his most-loved works; A Boy and a Girl, The Seal Lullaby (with piano) and Child of Wonder (from The Sacred Veil). Music will be provided upon arrival on the day.

The workshop will include 1 hour of singing, followed by a 30 minute Q&A. This event is open to participants of all ages, however those under 16 should be accompanied by an adult. Participants should be comfortable reading music.

Whitacre is one of the most popular musicians of his generation. His music has been performed throughout the world by millions of amateur and professional musicians alike, while his ground-breaking Virtual Choirs have united singers from over 120 different countries. Whitacre’s music is characterised by a uniquely emotive harmonic language.

“It’s been too long since I’ve been in the incredible city of Melbourne. I’m thrilled to have the chance to work with you on a couple of my pieces. We’ll sing, we’ll study, we’ll talk, we’ll laugh!”
Eric Whitacre
