The George Jenkins Theatre at Monash University Peninsula campus is an intimate 426-seat venue ideal for plays, musicals, dance concerts and presentations. Versatile stage access and five dressing rooms facilitate streamlined movement of large casts. The seating configuration of the George Jenkins is also perfectly suited to conferences and lectures.
This venue consists of a large thrust stage with ample wing space on either side with a cross over at the rear, house curtain and additional traveller curtains at mid-stage and rear. Stage access is from the side of stage, as well as via two vomitories under the seating bank.
Lighting and sound are available for one or two night events, such as presentations, conferences and smaller functions. A full lighting design can be accommodated for extended theatre seasons.
Extra dressing room space is available in the theatre foyer with easy access to the backstage area.
The theatre is fully accessible via a lift in the foyer, while removable seats allow for up to four wheelchairs to be accommodated.
A fully licensed cafe is connected to the foyer and is open pre-show, at interval and post-show if required.
For your opening night or after-show party, we can also provide drinks and refreshments.
