Dr. Vivienne Mak
Vivienne is a registered pharmacist with academic experience in both Australia and Malaysia. She has a background in community pharmacy. She was awarded Australia's Young Pharmacist of the Year by the PSA in 2010. She brings the experience and innovative thinking to the development and delivery of professional practice units in the pharmacy curriculum. She also has experience in developing business proposals for new educational programs.
Vivienne previously contributed to the development and implementation of new training workshops in pharmacy communication and counselling and established a new experiential learning site in private GP clinics for pharmacy students in Malaysia. She has attracted research funding from competitive funds (government), internal grants and industry grants as principal investigator in both Australia and Malaysia.
She led numerous research projects covering aspects of new models of pharmacist practice, pharmacy workforce and innovations in education. These included the development and implementation of active learning modules within the pharmacy curriculum. She is also the simulation lead for the Vertical Integrated Masters at the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at Monash University encompassing creative contributions to the OSCE programs and MyDispense technology , an online pharmacy simulation (virtual practice environment) for teaching safe dispensing.
